Paper Jewellery Workshop
MRIS- 46 witnessed another day of creativity when the school hosted paper Jewellery workshop on 18th October, 2016 , which was conducted by Ms Nishi Srivastava . As a part of quilling art, the workshop focused only on designing beautiful and decorative paper jewellery, by using strips of paper. Students got completely involved, using their imagination and creativity and transforming it into making different types and sizes of paper beads, necklaces, earrings, head bands, bracelets, rings, etc. Schools from all over Gurgaon participated in the workshop. Some of them were: DPS-Sector 45, DAV-Sector 14, Rabindranath World School, Bal Bharti - Manesar, MRIS-21C, MRIS-51. The aim of the day was to be as experimental as possible, playing with strips of paper and exploring craft skills to create exciting new jewellery.

Anatomy of Dots
MRIS-46 brought a touch of something unexpected and colourful, in the form of dot-artwork , a unique workshop, under the expert guidance of Nilanjana Nandy, a local artist who has been creating her own Indigenous, traditional & Aboriginal dot art paintings. The workshop, conducted on Friday, 21st October, 2016, received an overwhelming participation from various schools of Gurgaon. Some of them included DAV, sector 14 and 48, DPS-Sushant Lok, Bal Bharti, Manesar, Amity, sector 46, and more. Dot artwork, also termed as Anatomy of dots, are the paintings created for educational and ceremonial purposes as well as telling of events that have occurred. The vision, quality of execution in the medium and the use of composition to communicate their vision, were the main focused areas of the paintings done by the students in the workshop.
Art from Waste Material
WORKSHOP ON BEST OUT OF WASTE AND PAPER WEAVING The workshops being conducted during the mega art fest - Kala Sanyojan at MRIS-46, Gurgaon imbue in affirming and developing creative abilities among students of all skill levels. Best out of waste craft is an amazing way to utilize material which most of the times goes into dustbins. Ms. Neha Jain, a renowned artist, brought an art form using old magazines, newspapers, plastic bottles, cans, e-waste and even broomsticks to create beautiful and some amazing crafts. Right from waste plastic bottles, spoons to broken bangles, plastic hangers, waste baskets to broken trays and newspapers were all transformed into intricate artefacts. Students from MRIS-21(C), MRIS-14 (Faridabad), Paras World School, DAV sec-14, Gurgaon and Govt. Girls senior school, Badshahpur also took part in these workshops. Paper weaving workshop was conducted by Mr. Anshul Jain and he gave students an experience of working with the basic concept of weaving. They learnt this art form by weaving together many straight strips of paper, in and out, under and over. Exceptional ideas were executed by deft fingers of students. The underlying principle of Kala Sanyojan is to make arts cultivate creative thinking leading to other supplemental skills such as problem-solving which ultimately can benefit students across disciplines.
Assemblage Workshop
KALA SANYOJAN at MRIS-46, Gurgaon is a cultural showcase reflecting the artistic energy of the entire school. As part of this ongoing mega art fest, a workshop on Assemblage was conducted on 13.10.16 (Thursday). An eminent artist Mrs. Renuka Taneja mentored the students and helped them in creating beautiful 3-D models. Students from different schools were also invited to be a part of this workshop. The work revolved around bits and pieces glued and/or screwed together to form the unique image related to the individual student’s intent. The purpose of these workshops, which is consistent with school’s mission statement, is to promote participation and the sharing of knowledge and skills to the students’ community.
Wash Painting
Report on Wash painting: As a part of Kala Sanyojan , a workshop on ‘Wash Painting’ was conducted on 28th and 29th September, 2016, for students of grade IX, X and XI, by Mr Sadre Alam , Dean, faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Milia Islamia. In this kind of visual art, students used special technique of painting in which both water color and tempera were used to create the desired effect.
Graphics Workshop
Report on Graphic painting: A workshop on ‘ Graphic Painting’ was conducted by Firoz Ali, Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Milia Islamia, on 29h September, 2016 , at MRIS 46. In this category of fine art, a broad range of visual artistic expression, typically two dimensional graphic art was created by the students of middle school. In this form of art , the main focus was on lines or tone than on colour, especially drawing , and the various forms of engraving, referring specially to printmaking process.
Pottery Making
Report on Clay Pottery: Students of MRIS 46, got an opportunity to play with wet clay and create pottery during their four day session with Mr Nand Ram Prajapati on ‘ Clay Pottery’ workshop. The session commenced on 26th September and will end on 4th of October, 2016. Students of all age groups created pots, plates, toys and figurines, etc, with clay. The same will be baked and then painted with vibrant colours.
